Product Review

I finally had the opportunity to try Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Set ($10), which by the way, I was dieing to use. I had heard and read many great reviews on this beauty product, and being the makeup junkie that I am, I just had to have it.

Unfortunately, it took me WEEKS to find it at my local Target.  So, as soon as they had it in stock, I snatched it from the makeup display, rushed to the cash register and bought it.  When I got home, I immediately walked straight to the mirror, took off my makeup, opened my new concealer kit and of course, applied a few layers of makeup under my eyes.

Guess what?   It truly is an amazing kit! The concealers come in a slim, white case.  The size of this palette is small enough to carry in your purse.  Also,  some of these concealer sets include two small applicator brushes and a mirror. However, mine didn’t come with them, so I have no idea if the brushes are of good quality or if they’re even useful.

Anyways…

Both the concealers and neutralizer blend beautifully into my skin and they’re very creamy.  I like that the concealers minimize the appearance of just about every one of my skin imperfections and it’s not cakey.

The concealers have a little yellow to them, which helps neutralize any red marks around the eyes and face.  The  set also includes a translucent pressed powder.  The powder is perfect, it almost disappears against my fair skin.

Although, this concealer set is one of the best that I’ve used, it still has its flaws.  First of all, it did crease under my eyes.  Luckily, it wasn’t anything you couldn’t just fix with your fingertips, but still, it’s annoying.  Also, this set only comes  in one shade.

-How I Apply Sonia Kashuk’s Hidden Agenda Concealer Set:

You can use your fingertips, sponge or a make up brush.  I like using synthetic brushes to apply concealer, but whichever tool you choose, try not to tug  on the delicate skin around the eyes.  Instead, use a tapping motion when applying concealer.

 - Here’s the order I apply the concealers:

  1. Apply a layer of neutralizer to any red or pink spots around the eyes and face.
  2. Customize the concealer shade to match skin tone.  (I blend both colors of concealer, but you don’t have to use both shades if you don’t need to.)
  3. Apply concealer over areas layered with neutralizer.
  4.  With a cotton ball, dust translucent powder over the concealer.  The powder sets the concealer and makes it last longer.

Overall, the price is amazing for the quality of this product.  I would definitely buy again and yes, I do recommend you grab this one.

I was driving past my local library, and they were having a huge book sale.  Well not really, the library had signs claiming they were having a “huge book sale” but  when I got there, they only had one cart of books out.  Yeah, silly me, I read the words “huge book sale” and I was expecting a HUGE book sale not just a few dozen books.

However, I still took a look at the books that were for sale.  After searching for a few minutes, I came across a book that looked like an interesting and fun read.  So, for 50 cents I bought Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger.

I read this book in a couple of days, it was VERY entertaining!  I just couldn’t stop reading it.  Lol.  To be honest with you the three main characters and the story plot remind me of something out of Sex In The City.

Short and simple, I don’t regret buying or reading this fabulous novel.

Okay okay, on to the makeup review.

Milani Minerals Loose Makeup, $9.

A few days ago CVS had alot of its cosmetics on sale, and Milani Minerals Loose Makeup was one of them.  It was 75% off its original price!  I only paid $3 for this jar of make up.

Even if this item was not on sale, the cost is lower than any of those higher end brands, which by the way I have used, and after comparing, I like Milani Minerals Loose Makeup just as well.

What Milani Cosmetics says:

An extraordinary, *talc-free, mineral-based powder that perfects and corrects skin to flawless perfection. This natural, non-irritating formula is perfect for extra sensitive, rosacea and acne-prone skin. Available in 8 buildable, sheer-to-full coverage shades. Pure Radiance & Tinted Radiance are translucent finishing powders. They can be worn alone if you desire a more natural, subtle look. For best results, wear over your mineral powder makeup for an instant radiant look.

Available in 2 radiant shades.

*Deepest shades 08-10 contain talc, as so to reduce potential ashiness on darker skin complexions.

What I say:
I have the Milani Minerals Loose Makeup in 03 Creamy Natural.  This shade is perfect for my skin tone.  The coverage is buildable, so you control the coverage that you need, sheer to moderate or full coverage.  I’ve always liked a sheer to moderate coverage, to help even out my skin tone.  And with this mineral foundation, I can get the coverage that I want and still look natural.

Milani’s Mineral Loose Makeup comes with a small makeup brush, but it’s not the best brush.  It’s a little scratchy and the hairs are a little uneven.  I have nothing negative to say about the actual make up.

This product is great for touch-ups, it does NOT cake if you apply layer after layer.   So, you can apply it first thing in the morning, apply more throughout the day and your foundation will look as fresh as it did when you first put it on.

Overall, this foundation makes my skin look smooth and radiant all day.

Do I Recommend?  Yes!  This makeup is great for the price and the quality is excellent.  Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Woohoo! I’m soooooo excited!  As many of you know, I’m in the process of starting an online business.  Well, I finally figured out what to name my brand of products. But before sharing it with you, I need to make sure the name I have in mind is not in use by some other company.  (Crossing my fingers!  Lol.) Anyways, I need to do a little research on the United States Patent and Trademark database.  And after I’ve checked the name against any possible trademark violations, I will be able to comfortably trademark or register the name I chose  for my products.  (Apparently, there is a difference between having a ® or a ™ next to your brand name. Lol.)

I’ll go into more details about my online business as soon as I get all the legal stuff sort out.

Okay my lovelies, now on to the review.

The Website says:

A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.

What I say:

This paint pot DOES hold up to all of its claims.  It really is a creamy and long lasting product!   And it comes in nine different shades for you to choose from.   The colors range from your typical beige hues to lovely browns and black-gray.

MAC’s paint pots can be used as a base for your eyeshadow or if you prefer, you can use it alone as a cream eyeshadow.

I currently use MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre.  I really like this shade, it’s a yellow beige that almost disappears against my skin and I just LOVE useing it as an eyeshadow base.

(For the picture below, I used MAC’s eyeshadow in Pink Venus.)

Eyeshadows apply easily and beautifully over MAC’s Paint Pots.  It makes all of your eyeshadows last all day.  Trust me, at the end of the day, your eye makeup will look exactly like it did when you first applied it.  Plus it works great with any brand of eyeshadow.

Overall, I DO reccomend MAC’s Paint Pots.  They’re absolutely AMAZING!

One Fabulous MakeUp Tip:

However, just in case you currently CAN’T or you just DON’T WANT TO buy another beauty product, you can make your eyeshadows longer lasting by using products you already own.

Here’s what you need:

  • Face Powder (Loose, translucent powder works best.)
  • Concealer
  • Small Makeup Brush (I use the small blush brushes.)

Here’s what you do:

  1. Prep your eyes by applying a layer of concealer to your eyelids.
  2. With a small brush, set the concealer by dusting a little loose powder over your lids.
  3. Apply eyeshadow.

This simple tip will help your eyeshadows adhere to your skin better and most importantly stay on your lids all day.
