Foundation

FoundationBefore you can even start thinking about foundation colors, you need to decide what type of coverage you  need.

  • Sheer Coverage:  Best for a light, natural coverage.
  • Moderate Coverage:  Best for those of us that want to hide minor imperfections such as a few tiny scars, acne, or skin discoloration.
  • Full Coverage:  Best for skin that may need extra coverage.  This kind of foundation coverage is a good choice for downplaying burns, birthmarks, bruising and scars.

Okay, after you have decided on the coverage that is best for you, it’s time to focus on finding the perfect shade.   The best way to do this is by conducting a stripe test

  1. Choose three hues that closely match your skin tone.
  2. Dab a stripe of each shade on your jaw.
  3. Always look at the stripes of colors in natural daylight.
  4. The right foundation color will disappear into your skin, NOT change its color.

However, if you can’t find a shade of foundation that perfectly matches your skin then go with a shade that is slightly darker.

Maybelline’s Dream Liquid mousse foundation, is one of the best foundations I have ever used.  From the moment I put this stuff on, I was hooked on it!

So what makes Dream Liquid mousse a winner among foundations?

Dream Liquid has a liquid-mousse texture and an air-whipped formula that gives you a smooth, poreless finish with a natural glow.  It comes in 12 shades.  The shade I use is Natural Beige (medium 2.5),  but which ever shade you use, Dream Liquid will give you a flawless, air-brushed finish.

And ever since I’ve been using this foundation, I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on my “beautiful skin”.  Ahhh… now that can definitely boost a girls confidence.

Finally, a foundation that’s both cheap and fabulous!  It’s long lasting, light weight and it blends easily.

So if you’re in search of a great foundation, you should definetely consider giveing this one a try because it truly is wonderful.

Milani’s Natural Glow has a twisting knob at one end and a brush on the other end.  You need to twist the bottom knob and foundation will come out the brush.  It has a light to medium coverage.

But guess what?  I wasn’t impressed at all!

First of all,  the attached brush is too small.  It’s more like a large sized eyeshadow brush.   And using it, made my makeup look really bad.  I had streaks of foundation all over my face!

Okay, so at this point I had to take  my wedged sponges out.   And I must admit, Natural Glow blends easy when you use the right tool.  After blending with a sponge, I did get a nice and even application.  I was thinking “Wow, my face looks radiant and smooth.  What a great formula!”   Wrong!  My face looked more oily than radiant.

You only get 0.40 oz/12 ml for $8.49!  I used up almost half of it within a week.

It only comes in four shades (fair to light 01, light to medium 02, medium to tan 03, and tan to dark 04).   The shade I have is medium to tan and it was a bit too dark for my complexion.  Perhaps the shade in light to medium would’ve been a better match.

And another thing, if you do find yourself using the attached brush make sure you wash it on a regular basis.  Because bacteria can get from your face into the makeup and back on to your face.  And if you don’t take the proper hygiene precautions it will cause you to breakout!

Overall, this product has nothing to brag about and I personally don’t plan on buying this product ever again!
